The client does not arrive organized by modality.

We will look at the whole clinical situation: the person’s history and present circumstances, what happens in the therapeutic relationship, and the reasoning behind your treatment choices.

EMDR will be part of that conversation, alongside Gestalt-informed, somatic, and relational perspectives. Across four months, we will return to your learning goals through case formulation, rehearsal, and feedback.

A proposed course of study

Eight meetings. A consistent small group.
  1. 01

    The whole clinical situation

History, present context, strengths, safety, and the first formulation.

  2. 02

    The therapist in the room

Presence, contact, power, and the therapist’s own responses.

  3. 03

    Readiness, pacing, and uncertainty

The reasoning behind timing, further assessment, and referral.

  4. 04

    Awareness and therapeutic experiments

Purpose, consent, and attending to the client’s response.

  5. 05

    EMDR within the treatment plan

Clinical decisions in the context of the broader formulation.

  6. 06

    Considering other perspectives

Somatic, relational, and parts-oriented lenses, with attention to limits.

  7. 07

    When the work stalls

Ruptures, assumptions, and reconsidering the treatment plan.

  8. 08

    Integration and continued development

A revised formulation and a realistic plan for continued learning.

Proposed professional-development program. Not presented as basic training, formal supervision, or certification consultation. Final eligibility and any credit status require confirmation.

In-person or live virtual training

Two distinct
starting points.

Understand the method and examine the clinical reasoning behind it. Choose the training appropriate to your stage of EMDR practice.

The foundationIn-person or live virtual

Foundational
EMDR Training

Learn EMDR with attention to case formulation, preparation, and the clinical decisions involved in treatment. Develop your understanding of the method and the responsibilities that come with using it.

Advanced practiceIn-person or live virtual

EMDR
Deconstructed

For EMDR-trained clinicians who want to examine their clinical reasoning more closely. Consider the purpose of an intervention, its evidence and limits, and the rationale for any adaptation.

Current dates, tuition, prerequisites, and course-specific approvals will appear here when confirmed. “Foundational” is a descriptive working title, not an accreditation claim.

Clinical consultation

Bring the question
you’re working through.

Examine your formulation, identify what you may be overlooking, and consider your options within your training and scope of practice.

Individual
Consultation

Focused time for your clinical questions and learning needs. Examine a difficult formulation, think through a treatment decision, or arrange ongoing consultation.

Early EMDR
Practice

For clinicians newer to EMDR. You may have years of therapy experience and still need room to ask foundational questions about this method.

Advanced EMDR
Case Consultation

For EMDR-trained clinicians working with complex presentations and difficult treatment decisions. Bring your reasoning, including what hasn’t worked and what you’re unsure about.

Individual and group consultation remain separate from mentorship. Schedules, fees, and any credential-related consultation arrangements are not yet confirmed.

Linda A. Curran

How I approach
the work.

BCPC, LPC, CAADC, CCDPD

I’m a trauma therapist, consultant, author, and trainer. My work brings Gestalt and EMDR into conversation with somatic and relational approaches.

I teach clinicians to examine what they are doing and why. That includes understanding a method, recognizing its limits, and remaining responsive to the person in front of them.

My current work centers on training, consultation, writing, and resources clinicians can use in practice.

A few practical questions

Before you
choose.

How is mentorship different from consultation?

Consultation provides space for clinical questions and cases. Mentorship follows a clinician’s development over time, with agreed learning goals, repeated feedback, and a closing development plan. It does not replace the individual, beginner, or advanced consultation options.

Which EMDR training is right for me?

Foundational training is the starting point for learning the method. Advanced EMDR Deconstructed training is intended for clinicians already trained in EMDR. Each actual course needs its own confirmed prerequisites and eligibility information.

Will I receive CE or certification consultation credit?

No credit is being promised in this prototype. Basic training, continuing education, certification, and consultation hours are distinct. Course-specific approvals and any eligible consultation arrangements must be confirmed before enrollment.

Can I register or join an interest list here?

Not yet. This is an interactive design prototype. You can try the inquiry form and review a sample confirmation, but nothing is transmitted, saved, booked, or added to a mailing list.

Should I include information about a client?

No. Please do not enter client names, case histories, recordings, or other identifying clinical information. The inquiry form is for professional interests and administrative questions. This is not a therapy or emergency contact route.
